Tech Diplomacy Africa Symposium 2026 to Spotlight Africa’s Digital Sovereignty & AI Governance in Cape Town

The 2‑day TDGI‑led summit runs alongside the Women in Tech Global Summit 2026, creating a powerful platform for Africa‑centered tech policy and women‑led innovation.

The Tech Diplomacy Africa Symposium 2026, hosted by the Tech Diplomacy Global Institute (TDGI), will take place on 28–29 April 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, alongside the Women in Tech Global Summit 2026 (28–30 April). 

The event brings together ministers, ambassadors, tech leaders, and civil‑society representatives to explore how Africa can shape global digital norms through AI governance, digital public infrastructure, capacity building, and “tech‑ambassador” initiatives.

Over two days, the TDGI Africa Symposium will convene policymakers and technologists from across the continent to discuss the following:

• How to strengthen Africa’s digital sovereignty and reduce dependence on foreign‑defined governance models.
• Policy frameworks for AI governance, data protection, and cybersecurity that prioritise inclusive growth and local innovation.

At the same time, the Women in Tech Global Summit 2026 in Cape Town will gather government leaders, business executives, and civil‑society stakeholders to examine the current status of women in tech and set priorities for the coming year.  The summit will feature cutting‑edge discussions on AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, and sustainable technology, with a strong focus on empowering women to lead technological innovation and influence policy.
