It’s common knowledge that Twitter users can avoid seeing posts or conversations from specific people or topics by muting them. However, it’s also possible to mute a specific word straight from the tweet – granted you’re using Twitter on Apple, see below:

But don’t stress if you’re running Android – this quick guide will have you muting irrelevant content in no time at all!
How to mute a single word on any device:
Step 1: Tap the bell icon/notifications tab located at the bottom of your screen
Step 2: Select the gear/settings tab located at the top right corner of your screen
Step 3: Choose “Muted Words”
Step 4: Once the “Muted Words” screen has loaded, click on the plus sign and insert the word/s – you’ll then get to determine who the word is muted for and for how long.
To unmute a specific word or to extend the duration, simply open the “Muted Words” menu and make your changes.
