Motorola launches its new One Hyper smartphone

Earlier this week, Motorola launched its latest mid-range smartphone – the One Hyper. The LTE and WiFi capable device is set to run on the newest version of Google’s OS – Android 10 – and is currently only available in the US.

The One Hyper has a standard 6.5-inch Total Vision display with 1080×2340 resolution. It is water-resistant, GPS enabled and sports a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The device comes in a ‘Deep Sea Blue’ colour with two Dolby Audio bottom-ported loudspeakers and a 3.5mm headset jack.

The One Hyper sports Qualcomm’s most popular mid-range chip, the Snapdragon 675, paired with 4GB of RAM. It houses up to 128GB of built-in storage as well as 1TB of expandable storage. The device is fitted with a 4000mAh battery that can provide close to 38 hours worth of battery life. To keep the device secure, the One Hyper is fitted with a fingerprint sensor that utilizes biometric authentication for access.

It comes standard with a 32MP front-facing camera equipped with a pop-up mechanism at the top of the device- this shields from damage while also providing a notch-less display. Keeping with the camera specs, the One Hyper’s rear dual-camera system is made up of a 64MP wide lens as well as an 8MP ultrawide sensor. The system is said to support Motorola’s photographic AI software, optimising the camera for low-light, careful precision and bright, vivid results.

No details have been revealed just yet around the global launch date or pricing.
