Social networking site, Twitter is experiencing outages across its platform. Users around the world have noted that they are unable to include media in their posts, their news and trending feeds are empty and DMs are down.
“Notifications aren’t working, can’t post any media, polls are blank (not showing up at all), news and trending is empty…” wrote one user on Outage.report – the monitoring service has since received more than 4,000 reports of the incident globally, including Japan, Canada and India.
However, it would seem that TweetDeck – Twitter’s online dashboard management platform – users have been the most affected by the ongoing outages. According to a report by Reuters, users who attempt to log in to TweetDeck are simply redirected to Twitter’s website.
“We’ve been experiencing outages across Twitter and TweetDeck,” says Twitter in an official tweet. “You might have had trouble Tweeting, getting notifications, or viewing DMs. We’re currently working on a fix, and should be back to normal soon.”

The total Twitter outage comes just one day after announcing the rollout of a brand new feature. Yesterday, the social media giant said that this feature will automatically filter spam or abuse for direct messages (DMs).
DMs that may potentially contain offensive or suspicious language, spam or abusive content will be diverted to an ‘additional messages’ folder. Twitter users can access this folder under ‘Message requests’ in their private inboxes. Once there, users will have the option to either ‘view additional messages, including those that may contain offensive content’ or delete them using a shortcut.
