Amazon’s PAYFORT to provide payment facilities via AjmanPay

PAYFORT will expand AjmanPay’s facilities, to provide a range of payment options including credit & debit cards, instalments, and digital wallets.

Tuesday, 2 July 2019 — PAYFORT, a subsidiary of Amazon, announced a partnership agreement with the Government of Ajman, aimed at enhancing and extending the payment options currently offered by the emirate’s unified smart payment gateway, AjmanPay.

The partnership will pave the way for a consolidation of payment interfaces across government channels, enabling users to pay all government services conveniently via a single platform.

AjmanPay will offer a variety of convenient options, including the use of local or international credit & debit cards, or the use of various digital wallets. The Government of Ajman will also use PAYFORT as payment provider to introduce a pay-via-instalments service within the AjmanPay online portal and mobile app.

“On this occasion, His Excellence Marwan Ahmed Al Ali, General Director of Ajman Department of Finance affirmed the Department’s keenness to reflect the vision and objectives of Ajman Government 2021; by adopting best practices and institutional mechanisms to contribute to the improvement of the work system, to serve national objectives and enhance the confidence of partners in various local governmental sectors.”

“AjmanPay is an electronic payment initiative from the Government of Ajman, squarely positioning the emirate as a future smart city,” said Omar Soudodi, Managing Director of PAYFORT.

“AjmanPay consolidates payment interfaces across all government channels to one destination, by conducting a variety of government-related transactions online without requiring customers to physically visit any Ajman Government service centre. Our technology will empower AjmanPay to offer value-added services for the government’s customers by enabling debit and credit card payments, payment via digital wallets, and easy instalment plans in an automated and innovative way.

In addition to improving the payment experience for citizens, PAYFORT’ Services aim to help in delivering services more quickly, all while reducing the operational burdens of the current paper-based, physical service delivery model.
