The annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) took place last month at the Los Angeles Convention Centre in Los Angeles, U.S.A. Attendees and gamers worldwide were able to get a first glimpse at upcoming games from the world’s biggest developers and publishers. A large number of the more popular games are set for release for 2020 and beyond, leaving gamers restless until they get their hands on these long-awaited games. Despite this, gamers still have plenty of titles to look forward to this year.

Below is a list of some of the games set for release July 2019:

  • Wolfenstein: Youngblood: Wolfenstein Youngblood is a first-person-shooter (FPS) action game developed by Machine Games and published by Bethesda Softworks. The title will be the first co-op experience in the Wolfenstein title, although the co-op mode is only available through online play and not split-screen. The series takes place in an alternate universe where Nazi Germany won the Second World War. In Wolfenstein: Youngblood, series protagonist and American freedom fighter BJ Blazkowicz has gone mission. His twin daughters, Soph and Jess, embark on a dangerous journey through Nazi-occupied Paris in order to find their father. The game releases on 26 July for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. The standard edition of the game will cost $29.99 and the deluxe edition, that contains extra cosmetic gear and the ‘buddy pass’ will cost $39.99.
  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is the third instalment in the Ultimate Alliance series and the first title in the series in 10 years. The title is an action-RPG game developed by Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja and published by Nintendo. The game will see players controlling a huge roster of iconic Marvel characters, such as The X-Men, The Avengers, Ghost Rider, Luke Cage and the Guardians of the Galaxy, in order to defeat the villainous Thanos and The Black Order. The game releases 19 July exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
  • Sea of Solitude: Sea of Solitude is an adventure game developed by Jo-Mei Games and published by Electronic Arts as part of their EA Originals programme. Players will control a young woman called Kay who has turned into a monster. Kay will have to trek through a decimated city full of creatures and monsters like herself in order to find out what happened to her. The game releases on 5 July for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
  • Stranger Things 3: The Game: Stranger Things 3: The Game is based on the 3rd season of the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. The game is an isometric title that will see players taking control of some of the show’s popular characters, such as Eleven, Joyce and Max. The game will be released on 4 July, the same release date for the show’s 3rd season, on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

The month of July has more games, but these are the biggest and most anticipated for the month.
