Liberia: LRA unveils second phase of e-filing platform

The Liberia Income Authority (LRA), with help from USAID Income Technology for Governance and Progress Mission (RG3) Mission, has announced the release of the second phase of electronic filing (e-filing) platform for tax filing and payment in Liberia.

The general goal of the e-filing utility is to offer comfort to all involved residents in submitting and paying for all of their taxes that would scale back their price of compliance and enhance tax administration effectivity.

The primary part of the platform was launched in April this year for the submitting of annual company earnings taxes. The mobile tax payment platform was operated by Orange Liberia, while the United Bank for Africa manages the payment deposits. This is the first private-to-government payment mode in Liberia.

The platform is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

With the remodel, the digital platform will now help the submitting and cost of home tax classes together with annual enterprise earnings tax, quarterly turnover tax, items and providers tax, excise tax, property tax in addition to all withholding taxes.

The initiative is a part of efforts by the LRA and companions to remodel the income administration in Liberia by way of the utilization of efficient info and communication expertise (ICT) instruments.

The official launch of the e-filing platform is expected to take place at the celebration of this year’s Taxpayer Appreciation Day scheduled for 22 July 2018.
