With the alarming increase in the unemployment rate in Nigeria and Africa as a whole, Emplug technology platform is an employment portal that seeks to link job seekers with employers. According to the Vanguard the social network platform founded by Azunna Chukwu who is also the Chief Executive Officer said the platform will provide technology training, mentorship and fund business ideas for unemployed youth.

Emplug also looks to fund technology start-ups that received training from the platform. The startups will receive up to 30 percent from the company’s revenue. Job seekers need to register to become members of the platform which then allows the members access to information and data shared.

The platform also allows information sharing among members. Users of the Emplug platform have the means to contact each other using text messages.

Entrepreneurship is said to be the solution to combat unemployment and it is for this reason according to Vangaurd, that Chukwu is calling for investors to be part of the empowerment of the Nigerian youth. Chukwu sees this initiative as a space where the economy will grow through regular information sharing.
