Americans have elected as their 45th president businessman and reality TV star Donald Trump. Up against Hillary Clinton, Trump recast Ronald Reagan’s promise to make America great again. At age 70 Trump is the oldest person to be elected president of America.
Despite multiple scandals including allegations of sexual assault, Trump has managed to convince Americans that he is the right man for the job.
On 20 January 2017, the president-elect will place his hand on the bible and take the Oath of Office at noon. With regards to the White House, the sitting president and his spouse will host the incoming First Couple for tea before the ceremony. About six hours later, the new First Family moves in.
In his speech, Trump called on Americans to unite. He also congratulated Clinton on her campaign and confirmed that Clinton had called him early Wednesday to concede defeat and congratulate him.
Trump makes history as a political outsider who promised to “drain the swamp” of Washington.
