SAP SE has revealed that industry analyst firms Forrester Research, Inc. and IDC have named SAP a leader for enterprise mobile management (EMM) in their recently published reports, with the SAP Mobile Secure portfolio achieving a Leader position in both Forrester’s EMM Wave and the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Enterprise Mobility Management Software 2014 Vendor Assessment. SAP believes that these recognitions demonstrate its continued innovation in the mobile enterprise and security management software market.

According to the IDC MarketScape report, “SAP is able to provide customers with a life-cycle approach to mobile management by offering a platform on which to build and deploy mobile applications, as well as the technology to manage and secure those applications over their lifespan.”

In The Forrester Wave: Enterprise Mobile Management, Q3 2014, the Leaders are qualified as vendors that “balance OS, application, and data management functionality while providing flexible container options and productivity applications. [And] have also demonstrated a strong vision and road map to help customers as they bring their PC and mobile management strategies together.”

“With the constant introduction of new mobile devices, apps and content into the workplace, enterprise security is top-of-mind for companies large and small,” said Rick Costanzo, executive vice president and general manager of Global Mobility Solutions, SAP. “The SAP Mobile Secure portfolio addresses the changing needs of this market, offering security features that expand beyond managed devices to BYOx environments for employees, business partners and consumers. This portfolio is industry leading in a number of analyst reports for a reason – offering comprehensive security of the device, apps and content for today’s most popular mobile devices with scalability that is unmatched by the competition.”

Solutions comprising the SAP Mobile Secure portfolio include:

Device security and app management: The highly scalable cloud-based SAP Mobile Secure portfolio manages and secures deployments of mobile devices and includes secure mobile app management (MAM) solution that makes it easy for companies to simply and proactively push their mobile apps and services into the hands of employees, business partners and consumers. The newest SAP innovation in this area is mobile place.

App security and management: SAP helps secure and manage mobile apps through their entire lifecycle by automating app security. App-wrapping technology enables enterprises to quickly secure existing corporate and third-party applications without having to write any code.

Content security: The SAP Mobile Documents solution is designed for enterprise deployments where collaboration, security and control of business content are critical. Users can access, view and collaborate on personal and corporate content in an easy-to-use, native mobile app to access enterprise content management (ECM) systems already in use in the enterprise.
