Nigeria’s mobile payments service provider Pagatech has announced the beginning of its “Deposit to Bank” service that aims “to eliminate bank queues or visits to multiple banks to make payments to different accounts.”

The company said that the new feature “allows registered Paga users to send money to any bank account, anywhere in the country in real time.”
With over 3,500 Paga agent outlets nationwide now offering “Deposit to Bank” services, the company is “bringing the bank to the customer’s doorstep,” said CEO Tayo Oviosu.
Oviosu added that the service is “the cheapest and most convenient way to send money, whether via an online banking platform or physical presence in a bank.”
Nigeria has been moving forward on mobile banking in the past year at a breakneck pace and hopes that the continued bolstering of the country’s mobile networks, services and infrastructure will enable users to begin to go paperless in an effort to boost the West African country’s economy.
