The biggest mobile showcase in Europe will once again kick off in Barcelona, Spain on 25 February, and IT News Africa will be there to cover all the news, events and keynotes. Mobile World Congress (MWC) brings together some of the world’s biggest industry players in the wireless and mobile space, and over a period of four days, delegates will be able to experience the latest in mobile technology.
“The mobile ecosystem is expanding at lightning speed, with endless innovation and new applications of mobile technology. From contactless payments and augmented reality to embedded devices and connected cities – mobile technology is changing the landscape. The impact mobile will have on the world is limitless,” MWC stated on its website.
A world-class thought-leadership conference will take place during the entire event, which will feature keynote presentations and panel discussions with delegates such as Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth, Nokia’s Stephen Elop, Bharti Airtel’s Manoj Kohli, founder and CEO of DropBox Drew Houston and Hans Vestberg, President and CEO of Ericsson – to name a few.
A new cutting-edge product and technology exhibition area will feature over 1,500 exhibitors, who will all aim to impress delegates with the latest in mobile technology and ground-breaking innovations. This year will once again see the inclusion of App Planet, the Centre of the Mobile Apps Universe, where the mobile app community gathers to learn, network and engage with innovators.
More than 67,000 people attended MWC last year, and some of the highlights included keynote speeches by Ford Motor Company’s Bill Ford, Google’s Eric Schmidt, and Ericsson’s Hans Vestberg.
