The DatacenterDynamics Converged conference, taking place on 20 September at the Sandton Convention Centre, is expected to draw a strong response from those operating in the data centre space.
This is the 5th successive return to Johannesburg for the DatacenterDynamics Converged event and will again offer delegates an opportunity to discuss pressing issues affecting this sector.
One of these issues is that data centre decision making has become more complex because of the ways in which computers can be procured – through owned, outsourced or cloud models.
Although energy-efficiency concerns remain, new business-related questions are now coming into play.
Emerging architecture designs, data storage, SaaS, IaaS, the Cloud and virtualization are impacting businesses now. The interaction of these represents an opportunity for improved business technology value and innovation.
Organisers promise an event not to be missed, with a full itinerary of speakers, including Dr Jasper Horrell, General Manager: Science Computing and Innovation – SKA South Africa; Dr. Gaurav Pradhan, Chief Mentor & Group CIO, Timetunnel Consulting; as well as Matthew Campbell, Data Centre and Communications Services at Standard Bank of South Africa.
