According to a new report released by Ookla, a US-based net metrics company which performs internet speed tests worldwide, Ghana has the fastest internet in Africa .

Ookla’s report reveals that Ghana has an average broadband speed of 5.13 megabits per second.
Ghana beat Kenya to second place with 4.49Mbps. South Africa was sixth on the continent with 2.98Mbps.
Ghana Telecom (Vodafone) offers 6.13 Mbps, Zipnet/Broadband Home Ltd, 2.02 Mbps and Scancom Limited (MTN) delivers 1.51 Mbps, constituting Ghana’s three major internet service providers.
Internationally Ghana placed 72nd ahead of Italy at 73rd with 5.05Mbps and several other European countries. Kenya was 75th, South Africa 105th and Nigeria was placed 129th.
