AMD today announced the world’s first 1GHz graphics card.

The AMD Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition equipped with a reference engine was announced alongside the AMD HD 7750.
Coupled with AMD’s Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture, the AMD Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition should follow on the success of the award winning AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series.
“We were first to offer 40nm and 28nm, we offer the world’s first GPU at 1GHz. This is a milestone for the graphics industry,” said Matt Skynner, AMD’s GPU Division general manager.
These graphics cards come equipped with technologies such as PCI Express 3.0, AMD ZeroCore Power, PowerTune, AMD Eyefinity 2.0 and AMD App technologies.
The AMD Radeon HD 7700 series will be available worldwide from partners including Sapphire, Powercolor, HIS, XFX, ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI.
