The first SME Plus solution is MTN4SME, which offers significant discounts on various voice packages to small business owners who have an employee base between 2 and 200.

“A recent Small and Medium Enterprise Business survey1 indicated that there are an estimated 1.5 million SMEs in this country, which is a clear indication that the small and micro business sector is growing, and as a result contributing significantly towards South Africa’s economic development,” says Nomalanga Nkosi, MTN Business GM for Business Marketing.

“At MTN Business we believe it is crucial to harness this growth and to do so it is critical for corporates to support this sector in cost effectively meeting their technological and business connectivity needs – increasing operational effectiveness and SME Plus aims to achieve just that,” says Nkosi.

MTN Business has ensured that SME Plus and subsequently the first solution, MTN4SME, is easily accessible, whereby small business owners can visit certain MTN outlets or contact the MTN Business channel directly to find out whether they apply for these discounts based on their current voice packages. These discounts are applicable to various MTN Anytime and MTN Anytime Top Up packages.

“MTN Business is serious about supporting and mobilising the small business community and initiatives such as SME Plus and its various pillars fully support this premise – assisting these entities in making their business a current and future success. We are certainly excited about SME Plus and the future prospects the solutions under this portfolio will hold for this very important market segment,” concludes Nkosi.
