MTN Nigeria has unveiled a new logo to celebrate the brand and its continuous service to over 40 million subscribers in the country.
The new logo, which specifies the 10th year of commercial operations from August 2010 to 2011, would mark the beginning of celebrating the brand, its products and services that have ushered in easy telecoms service in Nigeria.
Speaking at the unveiling of the “MTN at 10” logo in Lagos, Babatunde Osho, MTN Nigeria Chief Enterprise Solutions Office, says in 2001 when the company obtained the GSM license, it was a journey into the unknown as there were no forerunners and few statistics existed to plan or work with.
Osho says MTN took a giant stride based on the existing potential in the country, the company’s intelligence, its vitality, unquenchable resilience, irrepressible spirit and the core values of leadership, innovation, relationship that are already in the fabric of the Nigerian consciousness.
“The success of MTN is in its the giant stride that smashed the myth that Nigeria is too difficult and unsafe for businesses to thrive, and that the company has not only built the most extensive telecoms infrastructure but the most extensive private fibre optics superhighway in Africa,” says Osho.
“We have invested more than any network in Nigeria.”
“MTN is the company that has not only provided the catalyst for an ICT revolution it stirred the collective corporate conscience by defining CSR and the company is made up of 99 per cent Nigerian staff whose technical skill and drive are recognised such that MTN Nigeria is regarded as rich talent resource for the MTN Group,” says Osho.
International recognition
Kola Oyeyemi, MTN Nigeria’s General Manager for consumer marketing, says the company has attracted more international acclaim and positive attention to the country than any other company in recent times and it’s a good reason for marking the company’s 10th year anniversary.
Oyeyemi added that the “MTN at 10” anniversary logo mark the official commencement of the celebration that will be characterised by series of activities which would last till December, as a show of appreciation to Nigerians for their support and patronage.
“It is the same way that we will continue to nurture our relationship with Nigerians by striving to enrich their lives in tangible ways,” says Oyeyemi.
“We strive to provide consistently excellent quality of service on our network and in our customer care and strive to achieve international standards in the significant aspects of our operations,” says Oyeyemi.
