The ESM solution provides a strategy, roadmap and implementation plan to transform the way energy and natural resources are used across an enterprise, the processes by which they are managed, and the business models needed to meet an organisation’s demands.
“To succeed with our organisation’s energy and sustainability strategies, we had to understand our goals and the business processes needed to cut resource consumption and reduce environmental impact,” said Kevin Gould, vice president, Research and Development, and sustainability officer, Avaya. “Working with HP and its partner Hara enables us to effectively integrate all elements of an energy and sustainability plan that positively impacts our bottom line and allows us to be smart about the way we use natural resources.”
HP Energy and Sustainability Management offering
The HP ESM solution is composed of new services and technology designed to help clients:
— Achieve energy and cost savings: Clients receive a roadmap that provides direction on actions to achieve short- and long-term energy and cost savings. Clients determine strategic projects that include an analytical framework to decide when, where and how to implement each project.
— Transform energy and resource efficiency: Monitoring, measuring and analysing resource efficiency as well as greenhouse gas emissions provides a snapshot of where and how clients are driving sustainability gains throughout an organisation. This allows clients to realise greater resource efficiency and cost savings.
— Align sustainability practices with business goals: HP consultants hold a workshop to help clients understand how best to align energy and sustainability goals with the needs of their organisations. This helps enterprises become more energy and resource efficient while meeting emission- and waste-control goals.
— Realise enterprise-wide energy efficiency: Clients work with HP to identify opportunities to streamline buildings, technology, the supply chain and other functions that can drive cultural change by making energy-use data transparent to managers and staff. Access to accurate information and processes needed to achieve energy-use targets empowers clients to have greater control over their energy and resource use.
“To extract business value, clients need more analytical insight associated with energy and natural resources – they need to assess their current situation and goals, and then establish a transformational plan to free up resources for savings or to reinvest for growth,” said Rudie Raath, Technology Consulting Manager, Technology Services, HP South Africa.
Open approach to partnering
To enhance the overall solution and customer experience, HP also announced an ESM partner network in which HP, along with organisations that complement HP’s services, will evaluate a client’s environmental impact and develop best practices for improving resource utilisation.
“Customers are seeking solutions that optimise both sustainability and energy management throughout their organisations,” said Amit Chatterjee, chief executive officer and founder, Hara. “Pairing our environmental and energy management solutions with HP’s industry reach and expert delivery provides clients with a superior, holistic approach to identify, prioritise and act on energy- and resource-efficiency strategies that drive cost savings, minimise risk and create value.”
