Uganda’s telecom provider, Warid Telecom has opened an additional six customer care centres around the country to expand its presence in the local market.
The company plans a total of 25 new customer care centres by June this year and intends to double that number by the end of 2010, according to local newspaper Daily Monitor.
Amit Chandiramani, Warid Telecom’s head of sales and marketing, said the new centres “are just the beginning” and the company would expand to almost 50 by the end of the year, throughout the country, to bring services closer to its customers.
The six newly opened customer centres are located around Kampala and will start operating as early as this week.
