Epson and South African Sizwe IT Group have announced a strategic alliance that will see Epson expanding its presence in corporate Africa, by appointing Sizwe IT Group its premier reseller in to South African market.
As part of the agreement, technology provider Sizwe IT Group is now both an Epson premier corporate reseller and accredited service provider (ASP). The company will deliver Epson’s full range of business products to corporate South Africa and offer technical support to Epson customers, utilizing its in-house CRM and logistics platform.
“Epson already has an established retail and consumer presence in the South African market, particularly in the photo printing, desktop printing and home entertainment projector sectors.
However, one of our key objectives for 2010 is to make a concerted push into the corporate sector where we believe that we have a number of products and services specifically suited to small, medium and large enterprises alike”, said Kelvin Reynolds, general manager for Epson Southern Africa.
Tim Modise, CEO of Sizwe IT Group, added that one of the reason for partnering with Epson was the brand’s potential in the South African market.
“There is definitely a gap in the market for one of the country’s large value-added IT companies to take this brand into corporate South Africa”, he said.
Sizwe Africa IT Group is the holding company of the Sizwe Group of Companies, consisting of Sizwe Business Networking, Smart Support Services, Sizwe Infrastructure and various other subsidiaries.
The company was established in 2001 by CEO Ben Kekana and Hanno van Dyk, after identifying the need for a quality black-owned support and maintenance provider in the ICT environment.
