Econet Wireless has opened a state-of-the art call centre in the capital Harare to cater for high traffic volumes.
Econet Wireless is Zimbabwe’s largest cellular mobile operator with more than three million subscribers.
Chief executive officer, Douglas Mboweni, said Econet Wireless had increased its investment towards customer service as a result of growing business nationwide.
Apart from heavily investing in base station expansions, Mboweni said Econet Wireless would showcase the stability of the company’s cellular network.
Mboweni said frantic efforts were made in the past 12 months to ensure that the expansion targets were achieved in order to address customers’ needs in terms of communication.
“This centre is being opened to support the huge growth we are seeing in our subscriber numbers. Our focus remains fixed on the customer and this facility is designed specifically to provide up-to-the-second solutions to our growing family of subscribers”, said Mboweni.
He said the new call centre would carry more staff and state-of-the-art equipment to receive a larger volume of traffic from customers.
