Alcatel-Lucent’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Mame-Fatou Ndiaye, said the new technology would make life easier for those embracing technology on the move.
“Imagine the ability to pause the morning news at home, and then resume watching while you are on the train to work on your smartphone. Or select a movie, on the fly, that your kids want to see and stream it to your car to fill the hours during that trip to their grandmother’s house”, said Ndiaye.
The Multiscreen concept is an area that has seen huge demand from consumers and an equal level of market potential for service providers.
This new technology barely comes a week after Alcatel-Lucent announced a new Multiscreen solution that would let service providers deliver high quality video to TVs, PCs and mobiles – a key focus of the company’s Multimedia strategy.
Features include a content delivery platform for service providers from Velocix (an Alcatel-Lucent company) and a multi-screen platform that is designed to tie current and new networks together in a unified video delivery model.
