East Africa Com expects over 1000 delegates this year

Focused on East Africa’s telecoms industry, the 6th Annual East Africa Com conference and exhibition, scheduled for 27-28 April 2010 in Kenya, is set to receive more than 1000 delegates, telecom professionals and executives.

Events producer Informa Telecoms & Media announced the confirmation of more CxO level speakers than ever to the 6th Annual East Africa Com conference & exhibition. The event will gather the East African telecommunications industry’s thought leaders at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, for two days of discussions, networking and debates.

“The program for East Africa Com 2010 has an unrivalled panel of thought leaders and operator CEOs, and will provide participants with the latest information to help them plan their strategies in a context of changing market conditions”, said Julie Rey, Research Director at organizers Informa Telecoms & Media.

The ICT leaders will address opportunities and strategies to further grow East Africa’s telecom markets, covering Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, Ethiopia, Rwanda and the neighbouring East African markets.

Regulators, telecom solution providers, investors, government authorities, fixed, mobile and wireless operator representatives are expected to show up at the conference.

Over 35 speakers will debate developments and strategies in the region, including Kenya’s Minister of Information and Communications, Samuel Poghisio, the heads of Tanzania’s and Kenya’s regulatory bodies, representatives of international corporations with a presence across the region, such as Zain, MTN, Orange and Essar, as well as leading national operators like Safaricom and UgandaTel.

In 2010, the organizers will introduce key debates and interview sessions on the most hot topics such as international connectivity, submarine cables, converged services, rural coverage etc. Also on the timetable, interactive sessions, informal meetings and online networking tools will facilitate interaction among top representatives.
