African CIO’s called to discuss Government ICT spend

An emergency meeting has been called between some of the leading CIO’s on the continent to discuss planned Government Spending and investments in ICT for 2010, due to the continuous significant growth on the continent.

Run by GDS International, the summit named CIO Africa, is being held in Nairobi, Kenya, chaired by ICT leaders such as Kevin Kinyanjui, CIO Kenya Airways, Benson Akpati, CIO Oceanic Bank, Suleiman Yusuf, CFO Intercontinental Bank and Tony Githuku, CIO, Kenya Commercial Bank, who have already confirmed their attendance.

The event will focus on building Africa’s infrastructure and creating growth across several industries on the continent through technological developments.
