SA Presidency asks journalists to register online

Must Read

k_motlanthe2.jpgThe South African Presidency has developed a new web-based media database which will allow journalists to personally update contact details. This was done in an effort to improve communication between the media and the highest office in the land.

As of 15 April media practitioners can register their details at www.thepresidency.gov.za.
Once registered, journalists can amend their contact details as necessary, using their login details.

Says spokesperson Terrence Manase: “The Presidency will as from the 15 April 2009 only use this new database for sending out statements and other information to the media. We appeal to journalists to register before this date to ensure that you receive all our communication,”

The system is being launched just prior to national and provincial elections in South Africa, set to take place on 22 April 2009.
