BlackBerry Storm SurePress technology wins Global Mobile Award for Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough
17th February 2009 – Research In Motion (RIM) was today awarded the Global Mobile Award for Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough. Judged by an independent industry panel, the SurePress technology, featured on the BlackBerry Storm smartphone, won the award for innovation and impact.
The unique and revolutionary SurePress technology allows the touch-screen on the BlackBerry Storm to depress ever so slightly to aid in typing and navigation and to give users a touch-screen experience with tactile feedback.
This year marks the 14th annual Global Mobile Awards. The Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough is a new category for the 2009 and recognises the tremendous diversity of the mobile eco-system as it continues to innovate and add new dimensions to the customer experience. The award has been introduced by the GSMA to identify the most innovative technological advances of the industry.

I have to admit, this phone has been rock solid for me in the year+ that I’ve had it. I can’t wait for Storm 3 to come out.
