Nigeria’s power in the ICT sector is growing

NIGERIA is increasingly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector, both in Africa and Asia.

This is evidenced by the recent acceptance and elevation of Information Technology Association of Nigeria (ITAN) management officials onto the world’s most powerful communication body.

According to the Vanguard newspaper in Nigeria, the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), has drafted some top ITAN directors onto its body with a view to stimulate technology in the West Africa country.

The acceptance of the officials, whose names were not mentioned, comes at a time when Nigeria is assuming a leading role in Africa in taking ITC to the people in both urban and rural areas.

The appointment of ITAN board directors was done in Hyderabad in India recently, and the move is set to benefit the country immensely in linkages with other Asian countries prioritizing information technology–ITNewsAfrica.
