Zain Nigeria has introduced a new Super Off peak and weekend International Call Offer that will help its customers save up to 63% on international call rate.
Under the terms of the Offer, Zain Customers will pay only N12 per minute when they make a call to any of the designated International locations across the world at the specified time.
The new Offer is applicable to calls from Zain Nigeria network to fixed lines in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States of America (USA) during off-peak periods on weekdays and weekends.
According to Zain Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ligali, callers will enjoy the benefit of paying a reduced call rate (about 63% reduction) when they make calls between 10.00pm and 6.00am daily and during weekend (from 10pm on Friday to 5.59am on Monday).
The Offer is open to Pre-paid and post paid customers of the mobile company and the Offer will run between October and December 31, 2008.
With the new price Offer, Zain now has the most cost effective international call rates among the main operators in Nigeria. Before now, the company offered the most cost effective international call tariff to most destinations among the GSM operators in the country. Other GSM operators charge N40.00 per minute or about 67 kobo (N0.67) per seconds for International calls to prime locations across the world while Zain charges N33 per minute during peak periods.
Ligali said the introduction of new international call rate is in line with the company‘s business strategy of creating additional value for customers and helping Nigerians keep in touch with their family members and foreign business partners at an affordable rate.
“This Offer is designed to save customers the inconvenience of carrying several phones, one for local calls and another for international calls because of the differing inter-network tariff”, he said.
He said the Offer will give many Nigerians the opportunity to make a huge savings on their international calls in addition to enjoying our other benefits from the people and value centric network.
“The UK and the USA are important destinations for most Nigerians. By lowering the call rates to these destinations, we have once again demonstrated our care for the convenience and feelings of our customers. We will continue to offer our very affordable SMS at N15 per SMS despite the introduction of the new Offer, giving our customers added benefits.
The company said further Information can be obtained in Zain Shops, Offices, and Major Dealers locations throughout Nigeria as well as through Customer Care Service lines, 111 and email address and website.
