Kenya’s ICT bill to be tabled in Parliament

Kenya’s ICT bill will be tabled in parliament as soon as the house business resumes, Kenyan Broadcsting Coproration said today.

Information and Communications Minister Samuel Poghisio says the bill seeks to harmonize the law and policy in the ICT industry, which is the fastest growing industry in the country.

Poghisio says the bill will be tabled in its current form, adding that any further amendments will be done according to the vibrancy of the industry.

Among key areas that the legislation will cover include intellectual property rights and e-commerce issues.

He made the remarks at the Kenya National Museum during the launch of the Seal Infotech Kenya software, which aims to modernize business operations.

Seal Infotech Kenya Managing Director Serge Marc Victor Blockmans said the Kenyan market was set to benefit from localized best practices in software process and management.
