According to reports released by BMI-TechKnowledge advertising revenue is expected to grow more than 10 times to as much as R2.15 billion over the next four years.
Mobile advertising services reached about R200 million last year, even though mobile advertising is still at its beginning stages in South Africa. The growth will depend on how many companies that use mobile advertising and how quickly they have done so.
Success will also be determined by the quickly cellphone operators and other corporations made use of this market. Vodacom is one of the companies that have already make use of cellphone advertising. This can lead to new revenue for South Africa’s biggest cellular networker provider.
