Nigeria: Broadband future to be announced

Nigeria’s future of broadband will be announced on 20 August at a forum that will be hosted by ITWorld International Magazine, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Starcomms and Ericsson.

The two day forum will be open by, Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande, the Minister of State for information and communications at the Golden Gate Restaurant Ikoyi, Lagos.

The event will devote a day to discuss broadband and projected feasible contribution to the deepening telecom revolution in Nigeria.

It will draw attention to efforts made by service providers and regulatory authority to speed up the broadband access in the country.

The Nigerian Communications Commission has already declared broadband as the next revolution in the sector, issues such as connectivity, pricing and quality of services will be the main topics at the conference as government officials make presentations.

Enyi Moses, organizers of the event said that AfrlTecc 2008 offers new insights and practical experiences on the next level of ICT development in Nigeria.
