FishText gains 100,000 in three weeks

FishText, used to text messages to destinations across the globe without using mobile operators, has attracted more than 100 000 registered users since its launch three weeks ago.

FishText offers the lowest messaging rates available anywhere. Because sending texts to people in other countries can be expensive on mobile tariffs, FishText can save over 95% on text to foreign destinations.

Users can also save money by dropping their bundles or switching to cheaper tariffs. Average amount for top-us is GBP13, by using PayPal and credit/debit card on the mobile applications.

South Africa is one of the countries that mostly use FishText and the feedback received indicates that users are happy with the service.

FishText shows that traditional text messaging is too expensive and underdeveloped. After registering the user will get an amount of free credit which is equivalent to 20 free messages.
They are ad-free and recipients will see the user’s normal phone number without any branding.

Messages allow up to 459 characters and support of mobile and web-based applications. The application runs on most Java enabled mobile handsets and is accessible to a mass market audience.

FishText can also be used through the Internet, giving the freedom to use either method to send and receive text messages. This application can be accessed via www.fishtext.com.
