BT, one of the world’s leading providers of communications solutions and services operating in 170 countries, has announced today that it has signed a five year contract with Gulf DTH, the company that owns and operates Showtime Arabia, leading pay-TV network in the Middle-East and North Africa.
BT will connect Gulf DTH operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the United Kingdom, using multi Protocol Label switching (MPLS) networks.
Using single networks will allow Gulf DTH operations to reduce costs and improve productivity by adding services that will build-up the network.
“We are delighted that Showtime Arabia has chosen us as a business partner. This deal demonstrates the importance of this market to us and our ability to meet the needs of global organizations. It is a sign of BT’s continued commitment to the region and the success of its partnering approach,” said Business Development Director for BT Middle-East and Africa, Wael El Kabbany.
Steven Macdiarmid, Vice-President of Operations inter-networks performances said that this solution was chosen to optimize inter-networking performances and will deliver significant benefits to both their costs base and effectiveness in serving their customers.
