vivo Rolls Out Y-Series Smartphones

Earlier this month, vivo launched two new devices in its Y-series – the Y12 and Y30. Now, these smartphones are officially available to the South African market.
Like most of the devices in the Y-series, the Y12 and Y30 offer a scope of features that keep users ready for work and play, including a 5000mAh battery and a 10W fast charge.

The Y12 sports a AI Super-Wide-Angle Camera that expands views to 120°, allowing exceptional landscape, friends, and memory capture. Additionally, the 8MP front camera also means that delicate facial details are captured, and the AI Face Beauty option offers tailor-made facial enhancements for a more beautiful and natural look to any selfie.

The Y30 features a quad camera experience as well as a digital zoom, auto flash, face detection and touch to focus. The front camera also sports an 8-megapixel camera for the ultimate selfie experience ensuring beautiful portraits whatever the occasion.

The smartphones have 4GB of RAM and an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor that allows for excellent storage and a device that will run smoothly – it runs Funtouch OS based on Android 10 and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage.

vivo CEO, Jeff Cao says that the company plans to rank in the top tier segment of cell phone brands in the country within the next three years. “vivo plans to provide South African consumers with a user experience beyond expectations through technology and innovative, trendsetting products.”

The devices retail at R3,899 (Y12) and R4,999 (Y30) respectively.
