The South African State of the Nation Address (SONA) will take place on Thursday, 7 February, at 7 pm and will be live-streamed on the official Parliament website.
Live streaming will make the address available to citizens who are unable to access the live broadcast on television. However, the broadcast will also be available on the YouTube channels of selected news channels, such as SABC and Etv.
The annual State of the Nation Address gives the government an opportunity to speak on its plans for the next year and to give the public a general overview of current developments. President Cyril Ramaphosa will give the address, making it the current administration’s last before the general elections later in the year.
The public can contribute to the conversation on social networking platforms using the hashtag #SONA2019.
