MWEB Launches LTE-A
Internet Service Provider, MWEB will be launching LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) products on Monday 3 July 2017 to complement its existing fibre-to-the-home and ADSL offerings and expand its portfolio of broadband options.
With LTE-A, users can expect speeds up to 50Mbps in ideal network and coverage conditions. Products will operate via the Rain LTE-A network, with 750 active sites so far and an expected roll-out of 2 000 sites by year-end.
Rihana Hoosain, MWEB Head of Products, says, “Our LTE product range offers simple, affordable, self-installed home connectivity enabling multiple devices to connect to the Internet. We’re excited to be bringing our customers a diverse product range, allowing them to find their optimal connectivity solution.”

Three fixed LTE-A products are available on a month-to-month basis:
- LTE-A Basic 55GB for R549 per month
- LTE-A Advanced 85GB for R799 per month
- LTE-A Ultimate 120 GB for R999 per month
