With technological breakthroughs being made almost daily, it’s increasingly difficult to keep up. This is certainly the case in the mobile industry, with the new Android 7.0 Nougat bringing advancements in VR, machine learning and more.

Do more with less
Enhanced performance and productivity appeals to just about everyone, whether you’re a corporate exec slash parent with loads to juggle; a millennial entrepreneur managing your e-commerce debut from a hotspot in the ‘burbs; or even a student. This is why the impressive UI, enhanced for multitasking and disruption reduction, is probably the crown jewel of the new operating system.

Nougat allows you to effortlessly toggle between apps with just one button, using Quick Switch, or even be in two places at once, viewing multiple apps simultaneously on one screen with the Multi-Window function. Access to Google’s Instant Apps means that you’ll also be able to use apps in the Google Play Store, even if you haven’t downloaded them.

Quick reply means you don’t need to leave apps to open and reply to messages, because you can do it all through the notifications panel, so working on-the-go takes half the time. If this is still too distracting, there’s always Work mode, which turns your notifications on and off on demand for a better work-life balance.

Machine learning is all the rage right now, so obviously, Nougat had to give you a slice of the action with Google Allo – a messenger that offers suggestions for replies based on your previous conversations.

And finally, Doze Mode will help you save battery by automatically putting your phone on low power usage whenever you switch off the display. Now you can keep on keeping on for longer, without fear of taking a forced break from your activities when your phone battery runs dry and there’s no power cable in sight.

Bells and whistles
Is virtual reality and 3D game play vital to your everyday life? Maybe not. Is it cool to have anyway? Without a doubt! That’s why Android comes with Vulkan API support on board. It makes mobile gaming smoother, more efficient and simply better than you’ve seen it ever before. Then there’s VR mode for when you want to step into another dimension.

The bells and whistles that really matter in the world of Nougat are the ones that don’t go off. Nougat’s impressive security features include superior file level encryption, direct booting to keep your phone safe even before you unlock it, and background updates so you can use apps mid-update without having to sacrifice a second of the experience.

Choosing the right smartphone
While Android 7.0 Nougat is available for download, you might miss out on the full power of the features because your phone wasn’t built for it. The new LG V20 is. It’s the first phone to flaunt this ground-breaking new operating system, right out of the box. Want to know more? Visit this link.
