South Africa: Social media reacts to anti-gay pastor

Somizi Mhlongo, television and radio personality affectionately known as Somgaga to his fans posted a video on Sunday after he stormed out of a church service. The television personality was unsettled by comments made by guest pastor, Ghanian-born Bishop Dag Heward-Mills at the Grace Bible church in Johannesburg.

Heward-Mills described homosexuality as “sinful”‚ “unnatural” and “disgusting”. He told the congregants that homosexuality is not found in nature.  To watch the clip of the video posted by TimesLive click here.

In a video he posted on his instagram page, Somizi called on all churches in the country to make it clear if gay people weren’t allowed at their institutions. He went on to say  that being gay is who is is and only God can judge him for that further declaring that “my soul is alright with my God.  watch the video here.
