It was announced in Johannesburg on Thursday that Datacentrix, a provider of high performance ICT solutions, has attained Gold UNITY Partner certification with F5 Networks. Datacentrix, a market leader in application delivery, is one of only two local companies to hold this level of accreditation.

Some of the prerequisites to join the F5 UNITY Partner Programme include an extensive experience within market areas, well-trained sales and technical staff, in-depth experience selling related products, a sizeable client base, financial stability and a reputation in the marketplace which is worth of the accreditation. The accreditation requires that the company must have a minimum of 2 certified engineers, Datacentrix has 4 as well as the ability to maintain the requisite sales accreditation.

“F5 recently made the decision to rationalise the number of channel partners it had in place, placing a stronger focus on higher calibre partners,” explains Simon McCullough, major channel account manager: Sub Saharan Africa at F5 Networks. “In line with this more targeted strategy, we are pleased to welcome Datacentrix to the UNITY Partner Programme.

The relationship will become further entrenched later this year, with Datacentrix pledging to join F5’s new Partner Support Programme, McCullough states. “This means that the organisation will be able provide more in-depth support to Level One and Two customer support calls.“Datacentrix is a critical partner to F5,” McCullough continues. “Its reach into the local enterprise space is unsurpassed, assisting us to deepen relationships into our joint customer base.”

Chris Pretorius, Cisco business unit manager at Datacentrix exclaimed that “This certification demonstrates Datacentrix’ allegiance to F5 and the growth of our joint business. We look forward to deepening this partnership, providing improved, more comprehensive support to South African clients.”
