According to a report via News 24 a pedestrian bridge, located near Grayston Drive in Johannesburg South Africa, which is currently under construction across the M1 highway has collapsed.
A report by The Citizen revealed that Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson Superintendent Edna Mamonyane confirmed the pedestrian bridge collapsed at 4pm on 14 October 2015.
According to The Citizen’s report, Mamonyane could not confirm if there were any injuries while a representative from Sandton police said there were no deaths reported. However, Netcare911 on Twitter said at least one person was killed while 15 others were injured.
Residents within Johannesburg have reached out to social media in order to air their views on the collapse.
