The Connected Kenya Summit brings together and creates a network of ICT players, leaders and influencers from the public and private sector, academia and the fourth estate to share, deliberate and drive ICT strategies and innovations that will propel Kenya’s economy and facilitate public service excellence.

“As a global ICT leader with local presence, the growing demand for broadband and the uneven development between urban and rural areas are of particular concern to Kenya, and Africa at large. Bridging the digital divide is a strategy and long-term goal of Huawei. Huawei is working continuously to improve broadband construction especially in remote areas, which is in line with this year’s summit that focuses on serving the counties,” said Mr. Li.

Mr. Li added that as the company commemorates 15 years of doing business in Kenya this year, it was committed to continue meeting the country’s communication’s challenges through its three business units in Carrier solutions, Consumer Devices, and Enterprise, in cooperation with local partners.

Huawei will be sponsoring the event for the 3rd time since it begun in 2009. Huawei has been key in promoting connectivity in Kenya through major projects such as the Rural CDMA project, e-learning for Kenya Technical Institutions National Connectivity, National Optic Fibre Backbone Infrastructure (NOFBI), Phase I, and currently NOFBI phase II.
