New DG for Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology

Alhaji Aminu Musa-Yusuf has been appointed as the permanent Director-General (DG) of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Kaduna State.

His appointment was approved by President Goodluck Jonathan in a press statement signed by the institute’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Paul Mshelizah, in Zaria on Wednesday.

The statement said the appointment, which is for a four-year term, took effect from March 19, 2010.

The Minister of Transport, Senator Idris A. Umar had congratulated the new Director-General on the appointment, and assured him of all the necessary support to take the institute to greater heights.

Musa-Yusuf has been the acting Director-General and chief executive officer of the institute since March, 2010.

He joined the services of the institute in 1992 as a Principal Staff Development Officer and rose to the position of Director, Training Department, in 2004. He holds Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography and Master of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning both from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Musa-Yusuf also holds a certificate in Logistics, Customs and Ports Training from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, New York.

He has so many publications to his credit, and has attended many seminars, conferences and workshops, both at home and abroad.

THE new DG is a member of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, (CILT-International) and International Multi-Modal Transport Association (IMMTA).
