An arcade classic will be making a new appearance on home consoles today, as Sega announced that their much-loved Daytona USA racing game will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 and on PlayStation Network.
The newly-released game will feature enhanced graphics, steering wheel support, online multiplayer and will have the same kind of excitement the original game had over the years.
“Daytona USA is the game that truly defined head-to-head racing for a generation of arcade gamers,” said Haruki Satomi, Vice President of Digital Publishing for SEGA of America.
“We have re-created every element of the Daytona experience for the new console version. Having the ability to play the game in online multiplayer turns your living room into the arcades of yesteryear.”
The re-release of Daytona USA will feature a couple of new additions, such as the ability to relive your glory days of racing to the sounds of the original Daytona USA soundtrack, drive like a pro with included support for the Logitech GT Driving Force steering wheel controller on PS3, and all Xbox 360-supported steering wheel controllers.
