Over 200 Information Technology (IT) company representatives have confirmed participation in the 2011 Systems Applications and Products (SAP) World Tour, which will be held in Nairobi, Kenya on 20 July 2011.
“We will give more opportunity to upcoming businesses to learn more on how to compete with bigger companies and showcase our innovation. In Kenya, we work with our partners. The availability of SAP will be purely done with our partners, interact with them, to drive co-innovation agenda in the market,” says Luise Murguia, SAP Senior Vice President for Ecosystem and Channels in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Murguia promised to meet with local software development companies to chart the way forward for the development of local software. “We will be joined by our partners whom we managed to meet today during our visit and they were glad to be part of us. We currently have 15 partners in Kenya whom we met,” says Murguia.
Murguia added that SAP is currently driving the usage of mobile technology as opposed to desktop technology.
Social Media drive
“We want to be in the forefront in embracing social media as the new solution in the market currently. We use Facebook as a different web to reach our customers,” he added.
“SAP channel partners can now offer a fixed-price, small-scale option for companies in need to equip only one to five users with business software. The software is ideal for those that need more than standard accounting or non-integrated business software and understand the benefits of a fully integrated business management solution.”
“When they eventually grow and need to add more users, customers simply can upgrade to the standard edition of SAP Business One at any time, without having to reconfigure the software,” concludes Murguia.
