Roamware wins “Most Friendly” award

Roamware Inc., a global provider of roaming and mobile financial services (MFS) solutions, announced today that it has won an award from Mobile Money Africa for Social Media Most Friendly Mobile Money Service Provider in the mobile money industry in Africa.

The awards ceremony was held as part of the Mobile Remittances, West Africa Conference on 25 and 26 January 2011 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Emmanuel Okoegwale, conference organiser and editor of Mobile Money Africa said: “Banking penetration is concentrated in urban and semi-urban areas and so millions are still excluded from formal financial services.  Services such as Social TopUps and mobile money are significantly improving access to financial services all across the world.”

The field of money transfer and remittances continues to change year by year and the West Africa region alone has more than 120 million mobile subscriptions and $15 billion USD in annual remittances.
