MTN, Nigeria’s leading GSM operator, has called on local communities in the country to partner with the telecommunications giant in order to look for and address the vandalism of base stations and other facilities across the country.
MTN Regional Marketing Manager, South East, Daniel Nwankwo made the appeal in Enugu during the official launching of the company’s True Value products in the region. He said that MTN loses an average of two generating sets a week besides other vandalism of its base stations and other facilities.
The Regional Manager continued that in some areas new generating sets are stolen barely a week after being replaced and called for collective security for telecommunication facilities and other public infrastructures.
He continued that the way out of the theft of generators is that our communities should be partners with all the telecom operators.
