HP has taken top position in the worldwide server market based on revenue of $3.4billion. According to Gartner, HP successfully ousted IBM from its position as the top selling server vendor.
The report also revealed that HP captured 31.5 percent of the total market; up 2.7 percentage points year over year. In total server shipments, HP remained the worldwide leader for the first quarter of 2010 with a shipment increase of 26.6 percent, driven mainly by sales of HP’s ProLiant servers.
“Building on 20 years of server innovation and leadership, HP continues to raise the bar in the server market,” says Manoj Bhoola, HP South Africa’s Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking (ESSN) Country Manager. “Converged Infrastructure delivers a new level of automation, simplicity, interoperability and integration to enable our clients to focus on meeting their businesses’ market demands.
