Warid Telecom appoints new CEO

Warid Telecom has appointed Muneer Farooqui as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Prior to the appointment, he served as CEO of Warid Bangladesh and has almost 20 years of experience mainly in telecoms.

Bashir A. Tahir, CEO Warid International, welcomed Farooqui to his new position, adding that the company has “some great expansion plans”.

In less than 5 years, Warid family has grown over 18 million customers with a substantial market share of almost 20%. The company has operations in the Middle East and Africa.
