Zimbabwe’s biggest online directory has recorded tremendous subscription requests from companies and has also generated interest from across the country’s borders, said the company’s spokesperson.
Zimbabwe Yellow Pages spokesperson, Mordecai Karira, said that the directory had seen its subscriber base increase from 3 000 in 2005 to over 7 000 currently.
“There has been a very interesting development since we went online in terms of interest from companies. We had just over 3 000 companies between 2005 and 2008. From 2008 up to date, we have garnered over 7 000 companies”, he said.
The online directory was established in collaboration with classifieds.com.
Karira said on any given day, the website attracted enquiries from more than 45 countries worldwide.
“With the stabilization (of the economy), enquiries come from as far as Japan and China”, he said.
Karira said zimyellow.com was a product of Zimbabwe Yellow Pages.
“It was established in January 2005, with a vision to grow and become the leading online business directory in Zimbabwe,” he said.
He said companies are listed in the directory by their location, contacts and products.
“ZimYellow is well positioned to adapt to the dynamic changes in market conditions due to its core competencies in areas of web design, online marketing, production, operations and finance, supported by a culture of continuous innovation, flexibility, openness, result orientation and goal achievement”, concluded Karira.
