Egypt’s Mobinil gets mobile messaging tool from Nokia
Mobinil chief executive officer Hassan Kabbani said the development was a giant step in the right direction to boosting mobile Internet.
“Given that Mobinil is one of the leading mobile operators in Egypt and Nokia a global mobile telecommunications giant, the co-operation between the two companies is a success story. Our 25 million subscribers will greatly benefit from this colossal partnership, which supports our vision of making mobile Internet available to everybody”, said Kabbani.
Nokia and Mobinil announced the launch of “Nokia Messaging”, an innovative e-mail and instant messaging service, which enables Mobinil subscribers and Nokia customers to effectively use the service in an easy, secure and affordable manner.
The service allows customers to receive, forward and send e-mails instantly, as well as upload and view e-mail attachments.
The service enables the customer to configure up to 10 e-mail accounts from any Post Office Protocol (POP), or Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) account, such as Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Gmail and Ovi Mail.
Customers can also chat with friends over Window Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, GTalk, AIM, ICQ, and Ovi when using Nokia smartphones.
